The Philips Respironics DreamStation CPAP Device is a manual CPAP device designed to use Bluetooth wireless technology and pressure reduction features to create a smoother environment with results monitoring capabilities. Pair with the DreamStation Heated Humidifier for added comfort. When connected, the machine and humidifier supply warm air from the water chamber to the therapy air. Connect the machine to a personalized DreamMapper app account using wireless technology to view results on a smartphone or tablet.

The DreamStation CPAP Device has an accessible and user-friendly menu designed to provide alerts and sleep results for CPAP users. Choose from flexible pressure relief, ramp or humidification. Download Respironics' DreamMapper app on a tablet or smartphone to access nighttime sleep results transmitted via Bluetooth wireless technology. DreamMapper is available on devices with iOS 6 or later and Android products with version 2.2 or later.

OPTIONAL Heated Humidifier

DreamStation Heated Humidifier is an add-on designed to prevent dryness and congestion as a result of sleep therapy. Place the machine and humidifier to provide warm air to CPAP users. A unique 'Preheat' feature to the DreamStation Humidifier starts heating the water tank 30 minutes in advance. Make sure the blower is turned OFF and the humidifier is connected before selecting this feature.

Piping temperature and humidification settings can be adjusted while the unit is running. Use the joystick to make selections. Adaptive mode can also be activated, which will monitor ambient humidity levels and automatically adjust heat settings to provide optimum humidification to facilitate rain reduction.

Bluetooth Connection to DreamMapper App

The DreamStation CPAP device has a built-in Bluetooth connection that allows it to be paired directly with the DreamMapper mobile and web-based program. Activate Bluetooth and download the SleepMapper app to a smartphone or tablet to start reviewing detailed sleep results. Use the free app to start accessing nightly results via a personalized account on a handheld. Please Note: Results are only available on one device at a time.

Ramp and SmartRamp

The Ramp feature and SmartRamp feature are designed to gradually adjust the user to CPAP therapy. While the ramp features are similar, there are a few differences between the two options.

The ramp is designed to slightly increase the CPAP pressure from half the prescribed pressure to full pressure over a specified period of time. A minimum CPAP pressure of 4 cm H2O is required to operate the ramp feature. Select a time between 5 minutes and 45 minutes for the machine to build up pressure in 0.5 cm H2O increments before reaching the specified pressure.

In CPAP mode, SmartRamp uses an Auto-CPAP algorithm and adjusts the reduced pressure settings on a breath by breath basis. When the SmartRamp reaches the prescribed pressure, the device will resume a run at the specified pressure. Please Note: During the SmartRamp, if the minimum pressure is not reached before the Ramp is complete, the pressure will increase by 1cm H2O per minute after completion of the Ramp.

C-Flex Technology

C-Flex Technology is a pressure relief feature designed for CPAP machines. Settings 1 to 3 have been created to reduce varying pressure levels during exhalation. Setting 1 is used to apply the least amount of change, while Setting 3 offers the greatest ease during exhalation.

LCD Screen Menu

The DreamStation Series was created with a simple and practical LCD display. The display is fine when using the UI. As the lights in the room dim, the screen's sensor is designed to divert light from the screen. Please Note: The control dial is used to display the menu. The screen does not have touch screen capabilities.

Sleep results are sent to the User Interface to view the results and goals of sleep therapy.

The first screen describes a "Three Nights Summary" set after 12 p.m. on the third day of treatment. Check the User Interface to see results updated daily

Daily sleep compliance results are given after the last session. If the user sleeps for 4 hours or more, the session is considered successful and a green bar is displayed on the right side of the screen. If the user does not reach the expected 4 hour mark, therapy will appear in the right corner of the screen.i is indicated by a yellow bar.

The second screen is valid for the first 90 days unless the sleep intent is fulfilled before this hour is completed. The data describes the number of compliant nights recorded in the previous 30 days. At the end of 90 days, at least 21 successful four-hour nights are needed to reach the desired 70% goal to get past the screen first.

Respironics Dry Box Design

Dry Box technology was created to help reduce the risk of water damage when used with the OPTIONAL humidifier DreamStation. As water may come out of the chamber, the Dry Box is designed to retain water within the walls of the unit to prevent water from circulating through the machine and humidifier connection. In addition, the air outlet port uses a one-way valve to prevent water from leaving the chamber and entering the machine. The air outlet port is located at the top of the water tank to minimize the total water change.

System One Resistance Control

The System One Resistance Control was developed by Respironics to help their machine reach optimum pressure using a numbering system that allows the CPAP device to recognize the mask. It achieves accuracy and reliability by telling the device to compensate for the particular mask type. Please Note: PR masks are the only masks designed with a resistance control number, so this machine feature is only compatible with Philips Respironics masks.

Detailed 'Setup Menu' Options

Scroll through the User Interface using the control dial. The "My Setup" section allows the user to enable various features available on the DreamStation.

Ramp: Select the time at which the machine will gradually adjust the user to the preset pressure.

Flexibility: Choose from 3 flexible settings for pressure relief after exhalation.

Humidification: Determine the humidity level by selecting a number from 0 to 5. Level 0 means the lowest humidity level and Level 1 the highest humidity level, while humidification is turned OFF. In addition, the DreamStation Humidifier can offer different humidification modes: Constant Humidification, Adaptive Humidification, and Heated Pipe Humidification.

Tubing Type: Specify the type of CPAP tubing used with the machine. This setting is directly compatible with hose diameter regardless of whether it is 22mm or 15mm. A separate setting can be selected by Heated Tube users.

Modem: Use the screen to control the modem. If the modem is turned OFF, it will automatically turn ON again after 3 days.

Bluetooth: Activate the bluetooth option to transfer sleep data from the device to a personalized DreamMapper account.

Time: Use this option to change or update the screen time from this screen in 30-minute increments.
